Neutraface

Neutraface

By using the dimensional lettering Neutra specified on his commercial buildings as a starting point, we created an extensive font family that is the epitome of Neutra’s vision—versatility, utilitarianism, beauty and practicality meeting at the nexus of form and function. Neutraface’s proliferation has covered diverse applications ranging from large commercial dimensional lettering to delicate captions in fashion magazines. We also worked with Richard Neutra's son and partner, Dion, to recreate the Boomerang Chair and Boomerang-patterned textiles as a way to present the architect’s work to customers who have no use for fonts. The Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum selected the Neutraface family, Boomerang Chair and Neutra textiles to appear in its 2003 Design Triennial show.
