During the fall, winter and spring months, lunch for Ben Kiel and Rich Roat is a 40 minute bicycling loop on the bucolic roads of semi-rural Delaware and southern Chester County. Invariably a certain amount of sweat soaks their "mandex" cycling clothes that hang to dry in the back room conveniently next to the water cooler, prompting the non-perspirative employees to apply a little spray of citrus room deodorizer when they pass by. After several detailed anecdotal studies Ben and Rich discovered that when they started wearing cycling clothes made out of Merino wool, the number of citraspritzes and wrinkled noses reduced to zero. They also noticed that, contrary to conventional wisdom, Merino wool does not itch, is comfortable in warm and cold weather, wicks moisture better than synthetic fiber and, best of all, doesn't smell bad even after repeated hardscrabble ascents up Way Road toward Centerville.
