The House Holiday Fonts will be available for purchase in short order. Scattered amongst this small pile of sketches are a few of the final Icons. You’ll get 48 of these in the kit. We’ve cramboned everything from Santa Claus to Abe Lincoln in here. The final files are vectorized but they start out like you see them above. I like to sketch with a red pencil onto tracing paper. The benefit of the tracing paper is that it allows me to begin working out an image very loosely, I’ll then overlay a fresh sheet and tighten the sketch further. I’ll repeat this until the image is where I want it to be. After that, art director Andy Cruz stops by the art table to take a look. If he likes what he sees I’ll break out the ink bottle and brushes to hit the final, if not, he’ll slap that sheet right off the table and it’s back to the drawing board for me.
Supplies: Tracing pad, masking tape, red pencil, a fresh bag of Lay’s Classic potato chips, Queensryche on the iTunes, FW Acrylic Artists Ink and a Winsor & Newton Series 7 #2 brush.
