Besides making sure our “color predictions” are on point, press checks allow us the opportunity to dig through make ready sheets while the pressman gets our colors and fit sorted out. Color combos on make readies that we might not have considered, or in this case, wet ink on a purple offset printing blanket help when it comes time to pick inks for the next job. While we were printing our new Holiday Cards, the Heidelberg wasn’t feeling the blanket on the silver ink unit. The photo above is what I rescued from the trash. Once the ink completely dries she’ll be suitable for framing.
