Here’s one for all the pigskin fans out there. That’s John Madden, done in graphite and colored pencils by an anonymous young artist. This is one of many football inspired pieces taken from a sketchbook found at the local flea market (a.k.a. The Dirt Mall). Said tablet is filled with drawings of all types, including some lettering and work in marker. Keeping an updated sketchbook is one of the most important things any aspiring artist can do. Powers of observation improve, ideas long forgotten are easily recalled, and you provide yourself with a means to view your progress over time.
