When my brothers weren’t pinning me down and encouraging our dog to lick my face, they were actually pretty cool. Sometimes they would invite me into their room to kick out the jams to the latest band on the turntable. I can’t say that I remember much about the music, but Angel’s White Hot LP sleeve always kept my attention. Sure, the androgynous men/women artwork messed me up for a few years, but fortunately it was the lettering that stuck in my head. Before I even knew what an ambigram was, I would spend what seemed like hours flipping the record cover upside-down then right-side-up again—though, the funny smoke in the room probably didn’t help matters.
