In 1952 Klingspor Type Foundry released Karlgeorg Hoefer’s first metal type, Salto. The design was based on lettering done by Hoefer using a pen of his own design, the Brause 505. This sample from a Brause + Co catalog—kindly donated by Show & Tell reader Moritz Kofler—demonstrates how the unique shape of the nib allows for a variety of effects. Sehr cool!
