When Ken told me that his good friends Kaisa and Christoffer Leka were going to be in town, I thought it would be fun to do a little cycling photo shoot.
The Finns are avid cyclotourers, which in and of itself is not remarkable except for the fact that Kaisa is a double amputee.
So we geared them up in some of the latest House wool cycling jerseys and helped them sweat off their jet lag with a little run on the lightly-traveled roads around the studio.
It was a day of firsts. I’ve never had a picture-taking pillion and photographer Carlos Alejandro had never taken pictures from a pillion. Also neither Kaisa nor Leka have ever ridden a tandem. A typical House Industries project. (Dig the gold metalflake Ruby helmet. Thanks Jerome!)
It was a beautiful day, our models were troopers and Carlos shot off an amazing roll. I think this is where I goosed the throttle and almost threw Carlos off the back.
And this is the “Low Speed Clutch Feathering Filter”.
What a great day. Thanks guys!
