As you may or may not know from our continuous bombardment of the worldwide pixelways with our recent release of the Eames Century Modern collection, we created a numeral font based on huge prints of circus numbers that kept popping up in our research. Like the 3 that hung in the graphics room of the Eames Office:
Or the 2 from Charles Eames’ office:
Fast forward to the current Eames Office and our Eames Century Modern release exhibition, where our red aniline plywood digit indicated the proper position of the Mattson 2.
It just so happened that the numbers 3 and 2 are contained in the year of manufacture of Angelo Cruz’s C1932 five-window Ford Coupe, so they became part of the dekaéxiptych…
