While in Helsinki, we got a peek behind the Unikko curtain at Marimekko headquarters. Seeing a magnet driven squeegee push ink through Finnish blue emulsion to create the icons of modern textile design was kinda gnarly. Besides geeking out over the process, it was both refreshing and inspiring to see the innerworkings of one of the true design driven companies on the planet.

Kiitos to Riina Rosval, Maarit Heikkilä and Minna Kemell-Kutvonen for taking time to meet.
