Photo-Lettering: Goliath in use

Photo-Lettering's Goliath in use

Jon Ascroft sent in this example of combining Photo-Lettering’s Goliath with illustration. “The piece is the theme art for a Children’s Ministry program at Redemption Church in Phoenix Arizona. It’s also my attempt to get youngsters exposed to good typography and illustration at an early age.”

Christopher Thompson for Photo-Lettering

Christopher Thompson sent in what he rightly calls the first 3D printed PLINC setting (that we know about). He also used Goliath for this gift.

Josh Korwin for Photo-Lettering

Josh Korwin, of three steps ahead, steps out first with an in use example. Josh says: “I made use of Stan Slope and Copeland Milo on this piece, which started out as client work and turned into a ‘just for the sake of it’ canvas poster.”

Departures

Departures

For their recent redesign, Departures choose the whole compliment of Neutraface (the original, No. 2, and Slab) to update the magazine’s look. Faced with the challenge of getting DEPARTURES to look just right for the masthead, they asked us to draw a customized masthead. Some adjustments to letterforms, several rounds of re-spacing, and a custom logo typeface later and it holds together quite nicely.

Don’t have a Black Amex and thus no subscription to Departures? Just need a quick headline in Neutraface Inline or Neutraface Thin and the regular ‘ole MasterCharge can’t stretch to cover the whole family? Check them out on Photo-Lettering to get just the couple of words you need.

Gettin’ Lucky

Lucky Magazine
Lucky Magazine custom font in use

Our friends at Partners & Spade called up to ask for some typographic accessories for their redesign of Lucky Magazine. After taking a shopping trip through the Photo-Lettering archive, we narrowed down a style and drew a custom four member family for the them. The deadline was shorter than a sale at Bergdorf’s, so we called in our comrade Mitja Miklavčič to lend a hand with the italic. The end result can be seen in this month’s issue of Lucky.
